Rivio
The settlement Rivio fainded the families of the village Papadatou , after about 1860. The name Rivio canbe derived from the slavic word << Rybbje-ryba >> meaning << fish >> . Here fits this explanation because the lake region Amvrakia is rich in fish.

The name of this area has been known since ancient times by the undergound river that feeds the lake waters during certain monhts of the year , usually December to May , depending on weanter conditions every year.

Lake Amvrakia

The Amvrakia is a lake of Etoloakarnania situated between Agrinio and Amfilochia it is just one kilometer from lake Ouzerou has a maximum length of 13,8 km , width 3,8 km and a maximum deoth of 40 m . However , there are significant fluctuations in the water level and land accupied during the decode of '90s section locution by the side of the bridge to Amphilochia almost lost by reducing the amaint of water

The flow and quantity of the water depends on the rain and the snow falling and the winds that blow. For example with the air decrease and the melting at the snow increases
The School of Rivio
Rivio's primary school was founded 1940 and worked for quite a short time. Afterwards it stopped for many years . 1948 the school worked again till this day although the number of students that attend the school has fallen dramatically.

Churchs
San Efsthathios church was built on 12 September 1967. The expenditure for its building came mainly from the villagers. Today it is seen as the main attraction of the village and a lot of ceremonies take place there.

San Nicola's church is situated in Velaora , above the village of Rivio at the west side of the mountain Petala. It was a historic temple of probably the village Alpitja . However , nowadays we have no evidence for it's chronologic built.
