Stanos is a small village surrounded by mountains near to Amfilochia. Has a big natural beauty and despite the fact that it is small has history too. The most people are farmers but there is people who works at the near factory of KNAUF . An english explorer Gulielmo Lik wrote at June 18th at 1805 Stanos is a village the same size with the village Amvrakia ( a village whose existance is not completely valid). Stanos combine the tradition with something modern as you can on the one hand take a taste from really mesogean greek life on the other hand you can engoy night clubing and a variety of sports.
1. The football court.
Stanos has a football court where the youth can go to engoy some physical excersise or see their favourite football team Anaggenisi Stanoy challenge another local team.It is a very good way for Stano's youth to keep fit and healthy.
2. The day nursery and the primary school.
Even though Stanos has few residents so few children it has both day nursary and primary school.Unforunately it doesnt have high school but we can hope some day Stanos get bigger and have one.
3. Oil trees and oil press
Stano's like most mesogean settlements mainly crop is oil trees. Oil wich produce is main ingrendit of our ciusine which you can taste in one of the many traditional restaurants.
5. Some churches of Stanos.
Stanos is a village with big the element of Christianism this can be proved from its many old and new churches.
6. Stanos from high
Stanos is really amzing from high as well as from low. ( Two last photos are taken fron airphotos website ).
8. The amvrakia lake .
Amvrakia is a beautiful lake with many plants and animals . A local legend says that this lake hide a small village that appears at summer when the level of the water lows .
